Bae Suah’s earlier novel—Nowhere to Be Found—is a favorite among literary tastemakers (sites like Conversational Reading, Three Percent, etc.), and was even longlisted for the PEN Translation Prize, but has almost no distribution since it was published by AmazonCrossing. The publication of A Greater Music gives booksellers a chance to get behind one of Korea’s most exciting young writers. One of the first Korean works to be published in English that features a lesbian love story. Korea is sponsoring the American Literary Translators Association conference in October 2016, which will be a starting point for Bae Suah’s U.S. tour.
